Pet Wellness & Vaccinations
At Loving Hearts Pet Hospital, we emphasize regular wellness exams and vaccinations to help your pet live a long, healthy life. This ongoing care is essential to preventing potentially serious health issues before they develop.

Vaccinations & Wellness for Your Pet’s Health
The most important part of being an animal caregiver is ensuring that a special little guy or gal stays healthy and happy for as many years as possible. The best way to achieve this goal is by committing to wellness care. Loving Hearts Pet Hospital offers comprehensive wellness care for all stages of life. We can help give your loved one the best chance at a long, happy, and healthy life.
What Is Wellness Care?
Wellness care is just a fancy phrase for bi-annual checkups. During a wellness visit, the veterinarian will conduct a thorough physical exam, checking to make sure your pet’s body is functioning just as it should be. We’ll also discuss with you a number of topics that are vital to keeping your loved one happy and healthy, such as vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition and weight management, behavior, and more.
The information we gather during your pet’s exams helps us develop a baseline of what’s considered “normal” for them. Every pet is different, so it’s important that we understand what “healthy” for your pet looks like. This gives us something to compare with future exams and diagnostic tests. That way, if and when something changes, it will be easy to spot, allowing us to address it right away before it has a chance to develop into something more serious and costly.
Pet Wellness Exams
We plan on being there for all stages of your pet’s life. Starting with puppy and kitten examinations, we’ll make sure your pet is always on the right track. This includes:
- Vaccinations that are personalized for your pet’s needs
- Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and education
- Nutritional counseling
- Behavioral guidance
- A full nose-to-tail examination
Pet Vaccinations
Vaccinations are essential to protect your pet against major infectious diseases. The vaccinations are given every 3 to 4 weeks in a series of three and usually begin around eight weeks of age and end around 16 weeks of age.
- Dogs: Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvo Virus, Bordetella, Rabies, and Leptospirosis Vaccine.
- Cats: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Feline Leukemia (as kittens and for outdoor cats), and Rabies
Keeping your pet on a consistent vaccination schedule helps protect them from common diseases they may encounter in public.
