Euthanasia Services

When appropriate, euthanasia can help your pet pass comfortably before they suffer from a chronic or terminal illness. Knowing when it’s the right time to say goodbye can be a very difficult time in any family’s life. You will not be alone at the end stages of your pet’s life, and we will provide the best support to make this transition easier.

Euthanasia Services

Every pet is on a different timeline, which is why we are here to assess and help guide you
through this difficult time. Please use the attached resources to assist you in determining your
pet’s quality of life:

Is an appointment recommended for euthanasia, and how do I schedule it?

An appointment is strongly recommended but not required. We understand these decisions can
be difficult to make and are not always planned. We are here to accommodate you to the best of
our abilities.

What Is Involved in Euthanasia

  • We will assess your pet’s quality of life and determine if euthanasia is needed.
  • We listen to any concerns and questions your family may have surrounding
    euthanasia and aftercare.
  • If your pet is in pain or any discomfort, some light sedation may be offered.
  • An intravenous catheter will be placed to ensure accurate administration of the
    euthanasia medications.
  • You may spend as much time with your pet before the medication is administered.
Depending on your comfort level, you may stay for part of or all of the procedure. Once
the medication is given, in most cases, your pet will pass peacefully within moments.
  • Afterwards, you may spend as much time with your pet as you need. Once you have said your final goodbyes, the veterinary team will take your pet and proceed with your
    aftercare wishes.

Can my children or other pets be present?

  • Yes, that is up to you.
